Fujitsubo Legalis R Headers & Exhaust System — S30Z
Nothing is quite like the Fujitsubo Legalis R exhaust system for the S30Z. It has an elegant tone — enough sound to give you the feel of a performance exhaust, but no drone on the freeway. The idle is not too loud, which is nice for a daily driver, but when you open the motor up, the Fujitsubo sings a really crisp, deep tone that suits the character of the Z perfectly.
ZSM sourced this system directly from Fujitsubo Japan. If you’re interested in one, reach out.
A Classic JDM Design
The Fujitsubo is a split system — just like the original Nissan 432 exhaust. It’s a classic JDM design and fitting for any kyusha build. The split layout preserves the period-correct aesthetic while delivering modern exhaust flow and build quality.
The ZSM Story
ZSM had always run the original manifold and OEM exhaust on their personal Z. After years of canyon driving, the original muffler eventually blew apart from the decel exhaust pressure on downhill runs. Although ZSM can build an exhaust system from scratch, the Fujitsubo Legalis R was a no-brainer — they’d run it on client cars before and knew exactly what it would deliver on their daily driver Z.
Real-World Performance Results
Even on a 160,000-mile original L24, the results were better than expected. The new system delivered:
- Noticeable increase in torque and midrange power
- Increased over-rev capability
- More responsive throttle — noticeably helpful for heel/toe downshifting in the canyons and on track
With a high-performance motor like the L3.0 ZSM recently built, this exhaust comes alive even more. The full benefit is still ahead.
