R200 / R180 Cusco LSD — ZSM Tuned (Japan Import)

Most LSDs don’t come tuned for your specific chassis out of the box. Chassis weight, horsepower, and tire compound all have a direct impact on the optimal LSD setting — and without that tuning, you’re leaving performance on the table. This is the ZSM-tuned Cusco clutch-type LSD for the S30Z, built in collaboration with Cusco USA to create specific ZSM settings for both R200 and R180 differentials on the S30Z chassis.

Why Cusco

Cusco LSDs are the only differential on the market with a forged housing. The stronger forged construction allows Cusco to optimize the strength-to-weight ratio, improving performance and reducing drivetrain losses. But the most important detail is the generous windowing on the housing itself — this allows significantly more oil to interface with the clutch plates than any other LSD on the market.

The increased oil flow delivers smoother engagements, better modulation, and more controlled differential temperatures. Keeping the clutch plates properly saturated with oil is critical for consistent, repeatable performance — on the street and on track.

Cusco, being a true racing-driven company, has engineered many adjustment points into their LSDs. That adjustability is what makes ZSM tuning possible.

ZSM Tuning Process

Fine-tuning an LSD is time-consuming. Every adjustment requires pulling the diff from the car and opening it up before changes can be made. ZSM is taking on that process — collecting data, testing on the S30Z chassis, and working with Cusco’s vast knowledge base to develop optimal settings for street and track use.

It’s not the parts list that makes the car — it’s the way it’s tuned. A carefully tuned car will always be more fun to drive and achieve higher performance levels.
